Good Intentions, Poor Execution: CSR Without Control

Our client CSR program management relied heavily on manual processes spread across documents and multiple communication channels. Program and budget submissions lacked structure, making it difficult to assess priorities and urgency. Multi-layer approvals were handled manually, resulting in long lead times and delayed execution. Program status—from proposal to fund disbursement and final handover (BAST)—was not transparently tracked, limiting oversight and control. Manual documentation increased the risk of missing proof of fund utilization and reporting inconsistencies. Data scattered across systems and files, accountability and audit readiness were difficult to maintain. Most critically, weak monitoring increased the risk of misallocated CSR funds, creating compliance and reputational exposure.
